Dr. Tom Weidig

Dr Tom Weidig is co-author of the first book on managing private equity fund investments. He has written several academic articles on private equity funds, funds of funds and the impact of the new Basle Accord. His study The Risk Profile of Private Equity has been publicised and endorsed by the European Venture Capital Association, and translated into German and French. He holds a Master of Science in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College London and a PhD from the University of Durham. He was a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Manchester, and a visiting researcher at Trinity College, University of Cambridge. Leaving physics behind, he then worked as a risk analyst in derivatives for the US investment bank Bear Stearns in London. He also worked for the European Investment Fund researching and modelling private equity funds.

Dr. Mark Hale

Mark Hale is the chief developer of PrivateQuant. He has long-term experience in Java implementation and numerical methods. He has a Master of Science in physics from Imperial College London, and a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Durham. He has been a post-doctoral researcher at Queen Mary College London, and now works for a large investment bank as a programmer analyst.

Dr. Berend Feddersen

Berend Feddersen was closely involved in the design process and business case of PrivateQuant. He was an associate at McKinsey&Company and worked for Accenture Germany as an IT consultant. He holds a Diploma in theoretical physics from the University of Hamburg and an International Diploma in Physics from Imperial College London. He has recently finished his PhD thesis in turbulence physics at the ETH Zuerich, and now works in finance as an analyst.

 

Dr. Andreas Kemmerer

Andreas Kemmerer collaborated with QuantExperts on research into the private equity industry, and is the author of several research articles. He has recently finished his PhD thesis at the Centre for Financial Studies, University of Frankfurt under the supervision of Prof Wahrenburg. Dr Kemmerer now works for the Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau (KfW) in Frankfurt as an analyst. He holds a Master Diploma in Finance from the University of Frankfurt. He worked for Haarman & Hemmelrath as an associate in corporate finance and audit. He did internships at Dresdner and Direct Funding Inc, a mortgage company based in Florida.
